FAQ and HowTo stay valid schema.org types that search engines can still read. Source: Google Search Central.
Structured data is a small block of JSON that tells search engines what a page is about. The page already has the content — schema removes any ambiguity about which piece of that content is the headline, the author, the price, or the answer to a question.
When the markup is correct, Google can show rich results: star ratings, product details, recipe cards, carousels, the breadcrumb path. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results on May 7, 2026 and HowTo rich results in 2023, but both remain valid schema.org types. Rich results take up more space on the results page, which can earn more clicks at the same ranking position.
Schema isn't a ranking factor on its own, and valid markup doesn't guarantee a rich result. Its value is a clearer, more eligible listing — which a schema generator makes quick to produce.
Pick a schema type above (Article, FAQ, HowTo or Product) and fill in the fields. The JSON-LD output updates as you type, and empty fields are left out.
Copy the result into a <script type="application/ld+json"> tag on the page it describes. Only mark up content that is actually visible on that page, and keep values such as prices, ratings and dates in sync with the page.
