Compare AI Models Side by Side

Stop rewriting AI drafts across four windows.

One prompt, four answers: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok reply at the same time in parallel columns, so you compare AI models on your real work instead of copy-pasting between four apps.

Pro $20/month. Claude and Grok columns need a paid plan.

Draft this, rewrite it, fact-check it, and critique weak points...

Simulated product preview. In the app, responses stream live in parallel.

4 columns

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok, toggled on or off in the model bar.

1 prompt

No repeating instructions across separate tabs.

Live columns

Answers stream side by side; reply to any one model to keep going.

Included

Compare Mode is part of your MultipleChat plan. Each column counts as one message.

Why compare

You already know one AI is not enough.

That is why people draft in one model, rewrite in another, ask a third to check facts, and use a fourth to find weak spots. Compare mode does not ask them to change their habit. It removes the windows, paste steps, and repeated prompts around the habit.

Speed

Stop asking the same prompt four times.

One input goes to the selected models in parallel, so comparison becomes a normal step instead of extra work.

Rewrite quality

Get several rewrites at once.

Instead of pasting a draft into model after model, send one instruction and compare tone, clarity, structure, and confidence side by side.

Safety

Disagreement is an alert.

If models contradict each other, the answer needs verification before you act on it.

Cost

Replace separate subscriptions.

A single multi-model workspace is easier than paying for and managing several separate AI accounts.

Method

How to compare AI models in five steps.

A fair AI comparison holds the prompt constant and judges the answers on the same criteria. This works in any tool; Compare Mode just removes the copy-paste.

  1. Step 1

    Send the same prompt

Use one prompt with the same context for every model. Different wording makes the comparison meaningless.

  2. Step 2

    Check accuracy

Scan names, numbers and dates first. These are the claims you can check, and the ones that cost you when wrong.

  3. Step 3

    Look at sources

Does the answer say where a claim comes from, and does that source actually say it?

  4. Step 4

    Judge tone and structure

Right facts in the wrong voice still need a rewrite. Pick the column that fits your reader.

  5. Step 5

    Chase disagreements

Where columns contradict each other, verify before you act. Then reply to the best column to keep going.

What to look atWhat to checkRed flag
AccuracyFacts, figures and dates you can confirmColumns give different numbers for the same fact
SourcesWhere each claim comes fromA confident claim with no source, or a source that says something else
CompletenessCaveats, edge cases, missing stepsOne column mentions a risk the others skip
ToneLength, formality and format for your readerCorrect, but written for the wrong audience
DisagreementsWhere the answers contradict each otherAny contradiction on a fact you will act on
Example

One prompt, four answers, one disagreement.

Prompt: “How many moons does Saturn have?” Two columns give the older count, two give the newer one. The split is not random: it usually reflects when a model's training data ends. That is exactly the kind of disagreement worth checking before you publish.

Checked answer: astronomers announced 128 new moons in March 2025, taking Saturn to 274 recognized moons. For anything time-sensitive, confirm the current figure with a primary source such as NASA.

ColumnAnswerSource givenVerdict
Model A274, after 128 new moons were announced in 2025Names the 2025 announcementCurrent
Model B146 confirmed moonsNoneOutdated

Model D274 recognized moonsCites the 2025 discovery teamCurrent

AI model comparison tool
Copy-paste workflow

For people who use one AI to draft and another AI to rewrite.

The core use case is not four random answers. It is better versions of the same work, produced by different models, without managing four tabs.

The old way

A messy chain of windows.

1. Draft in ChatGPT

Get the first version, then copy it.

2. Paste into Claude

Ask for a more natural rewrite, then copy again.

3. Paste into Gemini or Grok

Ask for fact-checking, criticism, or another angle.

4. Manually reconcile

You become the copy-paste router between models.

MultipleChat Compare

The same workflow in one view.

Draft

Get the structured first answer.

Rewrite

See a softer, more natural alternative.

Verify

Check assumptions and missing facts.

Critique

Find weak points before you publish or send.

You still choose the winner. MultipleChat just puts every candidate answer where your eyes can compare them immediately.

Model strengths

Different models are good at different work.

The best answer changes by task. Compare mode is how you discover that without guessing, brand loyalty, or manual tab gymnastics.

ChatGPT

Strong for structured reasoning, coding help, plans, tables, and general-purpose answers.

Claude

Strong for nuanced writing, careful edits, long-form analysis, and tone-sensitive work.

Gemini

Useful for research framing, data-oriented tasks, multimodal work, and alternative evidence.

Grok

Useful when you want a direct second opinion, sharper critique, or another angle on current topics.

MultipleChat also includes Perplexity Sonar Pro. It powers web search and source-backed research rather than a Compare column, so Compare Mode shows the four chat models above.

Compare vs Collaborate

Two multi-model workflows. Use the right one.

Comparison shows separate answers so you can judge them. AI Collaboration makes models work together and returns one synthesized answer. Both belong in the same serious AI workspace.

Compare mode

One prompt. Separate answers.

Use when you want to see how each model thinks independently, judge alternatives, and spot disagreements yourself.

You are here

AI Collaboration

One prompt. Team answer.

Use when you want models to draft, challenge, verify, surface disagreements, and synthesize one final response.

Use cases

When comparison pays for itself.

Compare mode is strongest when you would normally move the same work across several AI windows: draft, rewrite, shorten, humanize, fact-check, critique, then decide.

Fact-checking

Run the same factual question across models. If the answers diverge, verify before using the result.

Rewrite a draft

Paste the same draft once and compare a cleaner rewrite, a more human version, a shorter version, and a sharper critique.

Code review

Different models catch different bugs, edge cases, and architecture concerns.

Research framing

Compare outlines, assumptions, and source directions before committing to one research path.

Client emails and posts

Compare polished, direct, warm, and persuasive versions before sending something important.

Choosing a model

Test your real prompts and see which AI performs best for your actual work.

One subscription, many models

Stop paying with your time every time you compare AI answers.

MultipleChat brings model comparison, AI Collaboration, Team Reasoning, web search, image models, projects, and creation tools into one workspace.

FAQ

Questions about comparing AI models.

What is the best way to compare AI models?

Send the same prompt to each model, judge the answers on accuracy, sources, completeness and tone, and verify anything they disagree on. In MultipleChat, Compare Mode sends one prompt to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok at once and shows the answers side by side.

Which AI models can I compare side by side in MultipleChat?

Compare Mode has four columns: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok. You toggle each one on or off in the model bar, and at least two must be on. The Claude and Grok columns require a paid plan. Perplexity Sonar Pro is also part of MultipleChat, but it powers web search and research rather than a Compare column.

How is Compare Mode different from normal chat?

Normal chat sends your prompt to one selected model. Compare Mode sends one prompt to several models and streams their answers in parallel columns. Each column has a Reply button, so you can continue with whichever model gave the best answer.

What is the difference between Compare Mode and AI Collaboration?

Compare Mode keeps every answer separate so you can judge them yourself. AI Collaboration has models draft, challenge, verify and synthesize, then returns one combined answer with any disagreements listed separately.

What should I do when AI models disagree?

Treat disagreement as a signal. Check the claim against a primary source, ask a follow-up in the column you trust most, or switch to AI Collaboration or Team Reasoning when you want the models to work through the conflict.

Can I upload files in Compare Mode?

No. File uploads are not available in Compare Mode. Use normal chat, Document Studio or AI Collaboration when files need to travel with the prompt.

How much does it cost to compare AI models in MultipleChat?

Compare Mode is part of MultipleChat plans, so you do not need separate ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok subscriptions to compare them. Pro is $20 per month. Each column in a comparison counts as one message.
